In a self-defence situation, if you mismanage the encounter and punches start flying, wrestling becomes an essential skill. 

Striking exchanges are unpredictable, and when things get chaotic, the ability to control where the fight happens—standing, clinched, or on the ground—can mean the difference between escaping safely and getting overwhelmed. 

Wrestling gives you the tools to dictate position, neutralise an aggressive opponent’s movement, and either take them down or stay on your feet if they try to take you down. 

It allows you to clinch, control, and dominate in close quarters, especially when space is limited or escape routes are blocked. 

In short, wrestling isn't just for sport—it's a powerful survival skill when things go wrong in a real-world altercation.
